It's Almost Here!!

PLEASE READ   -   PLEASE READ

I can't believe that we are just a few days away from one of the best weekends of fishing of the year! I hope you are all just as pumped as I am to get this show on the road!
As I write this post, we have 132 anglers divided among 62 teams, which is yet another boost from last year's numbers of 117 anglers and 51 teams....killer!!

Make sure to soak in the following information so that you are in the know!...

Check in...
On Saturday the 27th, we will have our check-in at the Headquarters for the Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge on Tabor Road. Click HERE for directions and info about the site.

We will be open for check-in as of 8:30am on the 27th
Check-in hours = 8:30 - 10am
Lines in @ 11am this year!!

We encourage all competitors to arrive early for check-in. We will have some basic items for sale such as flies, leaders, tippets, etc.

The headquarters has plenty of parking for boats/trailers, and it is very close to our designated launch at the Larry Greene Access (see map below)

The Larry Greene Access is located on Rte. 78 and directions can be found HERE.

Every angler must check-in and sign a waiver prior to launching!

Scoring...
Scoring in the Ditch Pickle Classic is determined by fish length. In order to qualify documentation must be supplied and the fish must be released alive. CLICK HERE to learn how to appropriately document your catch.

There will be 5 categories for scoring as follows, fish will be rounded down (i.e a 13.9” fish will fall into the 12-13” category.)
Each fish, including Big Pickle entries, must be accurately reported on your score card or it will not be valid!!!!
12-13” = 1 point, 14-15” = 2 points, 16-17” = 3 points, 18-19” = 4 points, 20+” = 5 points

7 fish bag – Only your top 7 fish will be scored but tiebreakers will be determined by other fish caught so document all fish you catch!
You need to document which 7 fish you want us to count by indicating yes in the “Bag” column when handing in your scorecard. For team scoring only the top two individual bags will be used.

Tiebreakers - In the event of a tie in points or Big Pickle Pool, the next largest fish will be counted (document every fish!) until a discrepancy in points allows the tie to be broken. Note that this tie breaker is done on points awarded to a fish not absolute fish length.

Documenting your catch...
Each fish caught must be documented against the Pickle Stick provided to you at check-in from a perpendicular angle, and be presented in a “grip-n-grin” photo with the angler. The Pickle Stick photo must include the Pickle Stick number. Without these two photos, the fish doesn’t count. Further, the fish must be documented on a line of your scorecard with the angler name, species, length, and points included. Prizes will be awarded for non-bass catches so document everything you catch! Nose of fish should be touching the vertical portion of the Pickle Stick with Pickle Stick number visible. Improperly measured fish will not count. If a fish is too long for the pickle stick photograph it against your rod with the head at the butt of the rod.

How to measure your fish on the Pickle Stick

Awards BBQ...
We will hold the post-tournament BBQ on Sunday 6/28 at the Lakewood Farm on Lakewood Road. Lakewood Rd. is directly across the street from the Larry Greene Access (see the map above.)  The official tournament "Weigh-in/Awards Ceremony" will take place during the BBQ, so all entrants and spectators are strongly encouraged to attend regardless of how you did in the tournament!  There is no charge to attend the BBQ and we'll do our best to make sure you don't leave hungry!

The Goods...

Again for the 2015 DPC, thanks to a partnership with our good friends at Tunaskin Aquatic Apparel, each angler participating in the event will receive a Tunaskin Performance Longsleeve Shirt as part of their entry!!!
That's a $35 shirt for a $40 entry!!
It doesn't stop there...we've got some incredible donations for captains bags, awards and raffles to be distributed from our incredible supporters at...
